Barcelona, Spain

Some say that this is the most beautiful city in the world. And they say it for a reason. Everybody who visited Barcelona at least once always came back. The place itself is a bit unreal. Even if vacations are your least favorite thing in the world, this one will make you question your sanity. The architecture here is something that can't be seen anywhere in the world. Walking through one block might make you feel like you're on the streets of the Roman Empire. Go a few blocks further and you will find yourself in ancient Arabian squares. You can literally book any walking tour, and you will feel like you're traveling through time. Everything is preserved like it was built yesterday, although some buildings are older than millennium such as numerous libraries, museums, opera venues, castles and forts, cathedrals and churches. Talk about standing the test of time! The city is a crossroads of many ideas, cultures, different ethnics and whatever else you can think of.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

Unless you're from Europe, this might be a bit of an unknown place for you. It is located south of France, and it has access to the Mediterranean sea. Italy border is also not too far away, not even 10 miles. Monte Carlo is a home of beautiful beaches, money, expensive champagne, and most notably the place where Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix is held. If you're into racing, this is the place for you, as many say that this is the most dangerous racing track in the world. However, there are many other places to visit other than that. It is surrounded by beautiful hills to take tours and enjoy the panoramic views that you will always remember. The climate is warm, yet it is perfect as there is Atlantic current influence which reduces the temperature, so it's not too hot even during the July or August. Walk into any bar, and there is 99% that you will spot some famous actor or athlete. There are many places which you will most likely recognize from famous movies, as many of them were recorded on the very streets of Monte Carlo. Talk about James Bond movies or many of Alfred Hitchcock's movies. And those places look exactly like they used to, back in time. But, with fame, luxury and leisure, there is a price as well. This is one of the most expensive places in this list, if not the most expensive one.

Iceland

We're gonna cool it down a little bit. Most of the folks indeed want to visit warm places during the summer, but don't be tricked into thinking that Iceland is actually that much cold. While it is the Northern part of the world, the climate is actually very pleasant during the summer months. This place is perfect for those who live in crowded cities and want to take a break from the noise and slow it down a little bit. With a population of less than half a million, this is a place where the hands of the humans haven't had much impact on the land. Nature is intact, and you can enjoy many things such as geysers, waterfalls, beaches and many glaciers. It is a place most known for its geothermal potential. We couldn't quite come up with an exact location that you should visit, because there is no such thing for Belarus. But if you're to describe this place as a whole, it is a combination of old Slavic and new modern culture. Intriguing underground artists, lovely coffee and cocktail bars and local folks who like to party like there is no tomorrow. Add the well-known Slavic food to the mix, and you get something that you would regret if you miss it. And the best thing is, it won't cost you nearly as much as some locations mentioned in this article. Paris, France

This one is probably not a big revelation as well, but it still makes the cut. There is no list in the world that doesn't include Paris as one of the travel destinations. Just like Amsterdam, it's one of those places that just never sleeps. The city is crowded with tourists from all over the world at any time of the year. And just like Amsterdam, you can buy a special "Paris pass" if you just want a quick tour around the city to see all the most important locations. Like the famous Eiffel Tower, Louvre museum where the famous original Mona Lisa picture is held, The Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile which is also known as Triumphant Gate in some places. Those are just the most important things to see, but they are far from being the only ones worth visiting. But if you're not there for a sightseeing tour, there is plenty more stuff to do. There are thousands of venues and clubs that host worlds famous artists from many music genres pretty much every day. Whatever you're into, you will find something that you want to see. There are many street artists, musicians and painters everywhere around the city as well. Or if you're on a special vacation, you can also bring your significant other for a romantic dinner on many floating restaurants along the Sienne river because after all, Paris is a city of love as some call it. As of lately, the city and its citizens are also very open-minded when it comes to gay and lesbian couples in public, so that shouldn't be a problem as well. But keep in mind, everything comes with a price, and this place is very costly, so you better prepare your wallets and bank accounts!

Malta

And here it is, in our opinion, the hottest location in Europe at the moment. It is interesting how if you go back a few years, nobody outside Europe even knew about this place. But in the last few years, Malta became one of the most popular locations when it comes to summer holiday vacations. Nobody knows exactly how this happened, but people just started coming to Malta. New businesses started to open, the country started to build up like crazy. It is truly a hidden Mediterranean gem, as Malta is just a small island below Italy. Many things can be said about Malta. It is an archipelago with many beautiful beaches and lagoons, cliffs, fossil caves both underwater and on the ground, and it is truly a place of beauty. Maltese people have a very interesting and rich culture, and for you gourmands out there, there is certainly a bite to eat as well. As this has become a place that is very populated with tourists, be ready to see and hear many different people and languages. If you're spending a day off the beach, which you will rarely do, make sure to walk around and take a look at the glorious architecture. Malta's history is also very rich, and be prepared to hear many stories about famous Maltese knights. But for those that would like to skip history classes, there is also a lot of other fun things to do. As being told by many, this is probably the place with the clearest seawater in the world. Literally crystal clear! And thus it is just made for scuba-diving. The weather is perfect throughout the whole year, and the place itself is insanely crowded from sunrise to the sunset. Some people say that they never knew how it felt to be alive until they visited Malta. And many stayed there, as the visa is quite easy to obtain. Also, it is unusually cheap for such a place. So, what are you waiting? Just book that flight ticket and enjoy the smallest yet one of the most beautiful island-countries in Europe!
