There are a few restaurants and cafes to try, but they are overpriced and average.

All in all, you can get to where you need to go. There are loads of taxis and busses that will take you to your destination. Usually, tourists head to Miraflores and there are lots of options to get there.

By bus: The Lima bus system is great. They have a rapid bus transport system which allows busses to get through despite heavy traffic and other issues. Moreover, it goes right throughout the city with multiple stops in almost every district. The main problem that visitors run into is the fact that it is difficult to navigate without Spanish and a knowledge of the city. You could hop on a bus thinking you are one your way to Palermo and end up in an unknown ghetto. Make sure to purchase a map of some sorts, or use Google maps beforehand.

By car: There are taxis available, but they are not that good for tourists and expats. In order to use one of these taxis, you need a decent knowledge of the area and a suitable fluency in Spanish. Without these factors, it can actually be dangerous, as you could end up in an area that isn't safe. Besides that, many drivers take advantage of foreigners and charge more simply because the foreigner can afford it.

Uber is a great solution. There are an increasing amount of drivers involved in the business and you can enter the address in beforehand. No Spanish necessary and no chance of confusion.

They are usually sold in small packets. Small packets are around $7 for 10 grams and $15 for 30 grams. The quality of the stuff isn't amazing, but will get the job done if you really need it.
