Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and the largest city as well. It has a population of around 15.6 million people. Buenos Aires is a multicultural city, being home to multiple ethnic and religious groups. Several languages are spoken in the city in addition to Spanish, contributing to its culture and the dialect spoken in the city and in some other parts of the country. This is because in the last 151 years the city, and the country in general, has been a major recipient of millions of immigrants from all over the world, making it a melting pot where several ethnic groups live together and being considered one of the most diverse cities of the Americas.

Girls in Buenos Aires

The Girls in Buenos Aires are a mixed bag. Some are extremely beautiful and some are just ok. It depends on their ethnicities. However, the girls do have pretty high standards in men and that is what you will need to satisfy if you want to date a girl from Buenos Aires.

RatingLooks Looks of girls: 3 / 5

Compared to their Brazilian neighbours, the Argentine girls are rather bland. There is a difference between cute and sexy and the girls in Argentina definitely fall more into the former category. They are still quite hot, but they lack that bit of samba that some of the other South American countries have. Also, you will find most of the girls from a Spanish, Italian or German descent. They look very European, are of about medium height, Caucasian and curvy. Again, they are good looking, but lack the spice and wildness of other Latinas.

RatingAttitude Attitude of girls: 3 / 5

Argentine girls can be snobbish. There is very little you can do to get into an Argentine girl's pants - no matter how good your game is. You may find that the argentine girls demand lots of attention and dedication, but that doesn't mean it'll translate into anything near the inside of her bedroom. In fact, many of the Argentinian guys visit Brazil to find girlfriends - that's how difficult it can be.

How to Pick Up Girls

RatingPickup Chance of picking up: 3.5 / 5

There's no getting around it; picking up girls in Argentina is difficult. In fact, your chances are probably higher if you go for a tourist visiting the country. The only problem is that the chances of finding a really hot one are low.

As an expat looking to get laid, you need four things:

  • The ability to speak Spanish
  • A group of Argentine friends
  • A certain amount of game (and certain means a lot of game)
  • Patience

Without these four ingredients, you can basically kiss your chances of getting laid goodbye. Spanish is essential, without it you will struggle to communicate - whether to a guy or girl. This leads to the inability to create opportunities, which leads to wasted chances should you meet a pretty girl. Much like the Spanish and Italian cultures, there is a need for you to approach girls as a group of friends rather than an individual. This is something not many tourists understand, so often chances are blown before you even try. Get someone else to introduce you to her. That is the least invasive way. Once you have met, you will need enough charm to get her to agree to go on a date with you. Don't be too pushy - that's where the patience comes in. You'll also need quite a few dates before anything happens.

  • Galeria Jardin
  • Recoleta Mall
Recoleta Mall
  • Abasto Shopping

  • Portal Palermo

The beach in Buenos Aires is a spectacle to behold. Some of the beaches in the near the city are absolutely gorgeous, and the women who sunbathe on its sandy shores are a matching attraction. When you picture a beach in South America, skimpy bikinis and thongs come to mind, and that is exactly what you get. If not for the pickup game, the sights alone are worth the trip.

Tips for Nighttime

The Nighttime game is pretty good and chances of hooking up are pretty high as well. Just make sure you dress well, smell nice and are polite.

RatingNighttime Chance of hooking up at nighttime: 3.5 / 5

At night, the chance of hooking up in the city of Buenos Aires is good. Therefore, it is essential that you bring your A-game while hitting on girls post sunset.

Best Nightclubs to Meet Girls

While not a partying capital, there are still a few clubs worth trying if you are looking for a good time. These can be narrowed down to the best clubs in the city. You may find a few tourists looking for a good time. If you are lucky, you will find a few girls from other parts of South America.

Rosebar - Located in Palermo, this nightclub has fast become one of the most trendy clubs in town. It resembles the stylings of something you might find in Ibiza and hosts a variety of famous local and international DJs. Every night is a different event, and the party never stops. While some call it quits at 3am, there are those who continue the party until the sun comes out.

INK - where the rich and famous often come to have a night of fun. Also nestled in the bustling Palermo, INK has an air of style, a banging sound system and just the right amount of sophistication. The music is spectacular and the party is often preluded by an formal dinner or fashion show.

Terrazas del Este - a monster of a club that has enough space for over 3000 people. This club features ten different bars 4 dance floors, insanely hot bartenders and enough genres of music to satisfy any taste. If you are looking to try your game with tourists, this is the club for you.

Fiesta Plop - often the club with the best events, such as themes and dress up parties. You need to use your judgement with this one, as it started out as a gay club. If there are lots of girls around, then it is safe to venture inside. However, if it is mainly guys, run like the wind. You'll probably get hit on by a few queers.

RatingLooks Nightlife in general: 3 / 5

The nightlife in Buenos Aires isn't brilliant, but on some nights it does really pump. Another factor is the cost. It's insanely expensive, which is why most of the clubbing scene is for tourists, wealthy locals and celebrities. Also, it doesn't have the same Latin flair as Sao Paulo. However, if you keep your ear to the ground, you can find an event that makes the money and effort worthwhile - especially if hooking up with tourists is a focal strategy.

Top Dating Tips

If you manage to land a date in Argentina, you better be ready to impress. The girls are spoiled and used to a high standard from their potential lovers, so everything needs to be well thought through before you start the date. To get the creative juices flowing, here are a few ideas to try in Buenos Aires.

The first date shouldn't be anything fancy. A light meal, drinks or coffee will suffice. You simply want to test the waters and see if that spark exists. You will need to flaunt a bit of Spanish, so come prepared with pre-practiced compliments if you can. There are a variety of options available, so head to a mall as it is the best choice for coffee or a light meal.

Second dates are when things start to get interesting. If you've made it this far, you want to impress. Unfortunately, this may require splashing out a bit on a nice dinner at a trendy restaurant. Try Paraje Arevalo or I Latina.

Third dates can be more relaxed. This is when you are trying to seal the deal and move things into the bedroom. A physical task might be in order, to which you could go ice skating or bowling to enhance the physical connection.

Online Dating

Online dating is catching on in Buenos Aires. In fact, if you are looking to hook-up within the city, it's probably best to use some form of dating social media beforehand. This will give you an edge once you arrive, giving you either potential hook-ups or the chance of starting a friendship circle from which you can meet a few hotties at a later stage. There is just no getting away from the need for online dating in Buenos Aires. This is further necessary because of the coldness that you may find when going for the direct approach on the street or at malls, etc.

Here is a list of the best apps to use:

  • Tinder - A name that has been synonymous with internet dating since 2012. This comes with a blessing and a curse. Positively, you will always have access to lots of potential matches. Negatively, you will have to swipe through hundreds of not-so-attractive girls in order to find a good match. However, there are a few ways to avoid this. You could try spending your time on a few platforms and putting your Instagram account on the Tinder profile. If a girl is really interested, she may just slide into your DMs. That way, you will have a narrower list to select from.
  • Happn is an app that works much like any other. Start by entering your details and a few pictures to show off your looks. However, instead of matching you with a chosen radius, Happn connects you with people whom you have actually passed throughout the day. For locals, this can mean an awkward match with a co-worker or someone else that may not be the best idea ever, but as a visitor, it’s a great conversation starter. Happn is definitely one of the apps to be on in South Amrica, as most of the girls will notice you as a foreigner when they pass by. This sparks curiosity and an exotic excitement.
  • Bumble – Bumble was introduced as the Tinder that is more favourable to the female gender. This was achieved through a system that ensures that only females initiate conversations after a match, thus eliminating annoying messages (so they say) from unwanted males. It’s fun to be on and requires very little effort on the part of the male, so it’s a good background dating application to have on your phone. However, there is one potential downside: messages must be responded to within 24 hours or the match is lost.
  • Badoo – one of the world’s top dating apps for a reason, Badoo is also a refreshing take on what mobile dating apps could be. The swiping system is replaced by a selection criterion that is slightly strange. Instead of selecting a person out of a crowd, you are required to upload a picture of a celebrity that you find attractive. The AI then selects people with similar features and sends them to your dashboard for you to choose. For some, it works – particularly those who have a specific type.
  • Hinge – In Buenos Aires everyone is on social media, so there is a lot of untapped potential left untouched online. Some of the girls are as close as an introduction away. The makers of Hinge realized this, which is why they created an application that connects you with girls with whom you have mutual friends. If you have friends or family in Buenos Aires, it’s a great app. It helps you avoid the awkwardness of approaching a stranger.
  • Loveflutter – A new application in the South American ecosystem. It replaces the superficial swiping that is based on just a few pictures with a more comprehensive profile. It shows tweets, Facebook posts and other aspects of information in order to provide a more completed display of who the person is. While this gives you a better chance if you believe in your intellectual abilities, it does also take out a lot of the mystery that usually happens over a coffee date.
  • Instagram – Often, this mainstream social media app is overlooked. It has tremendous power to find dates, especially if you are trying to game before you even arrive in the country. Connecting with girls is simple: go to the “search” page, select the location filter and find places around Buenos Aires (Racoleda would be a good example, or a popular beach). On this page, a number of girls’ pictures and accounts will appear. If you find a few that you like, slide into their DMs. Provided your account is interesting enough, most girls will give you a response. Arrive in Argentina and make sure you ask a few out for coffee – get to know her friends, too!
  • Match.com – This is something of a staple app of the International Playboy's dating portfolio. Match is not unique by any stretch of the imagination; however, it was one of the first sites to be launched. This means that there are lots of people on the platform, so it’s not the worst thing ever. Added to this, the algorithm matches you with similar people, meaning you don’t have to sift through heaps of profiles before you find a decent girl.

Dating Apps That are just for Sex:

As seen in the “How to get Laid as Soon as Possible” section, there are a few apps that are designed for no-strings-attached hook-ups. There is a positive and a negative with such platforms. The obvious advantage is the opportunity to have sex fairly quickly. However, there are also a few weirdos on the site. Sometimes, it gets worse and criminal activity is a concern. While males may not be the predominant target of traffickers and that lot, you should still be wary of trannies, muggers and other sorts of scams.

Here is a list of the Best Apps for a quick hook-up:

  • IamNaughty – the name says it all. Get on this app if you are keen on a quick one-night stand but remain vigilant of a few girls who may have STDs or the clingy weirdos.
  • C-Date – one of the top casual dating sites. Everyone on the site is looking for a fling and nothing more. It’s convenient and the site has a lot of members – everything you need to get laid quickly.

What Kind of Guys Have the Best Chances

Your chances are mainly determined by your ability to play a longer game with the women. You also need the ability to speak Spanish, which allows you to connect with the girls over a period of time, especially because you need a long conversation. Naturally, guys from Spain have a really good chance, with the Mediterranean look. White guys from other nations often struggle with the culture, so there is a block there. Funnily enough, Argentines look down on other South American nations, so foreign Latinos will probably find it difficult as well.

Europeans and Americans usually fair well in other countries; however, that magic is lost on most of the Argentine girls. Black guys do have an exotic touch about them, so there is room as a fulfilment of curiosity. All in all, it is a tough place to find a girl, but not impossible. It just takes work.

Risks while Gaming

Some women try scams by pretending to be interested in you. This isn't gold digging, it is proper crime. Many women wait in the clubs, touristy areas and brothel hot spots in the hope of finding a foreign sucker to dupe. There are two main forms of such exploitation.

Firstly, you may notice cabaret posters around town. If you are silly enough to enter the cabaret, you will be held against your will until you pay a certain amount of money. The amount of money is dependant on how wealthy you look. Note: Cabarets are illegal in Argentina, so avoid any such place.

Secondly, prostitutes often hang around clubs, bars and brothels and try to allure men. They ask to go back to their hotel rooms or place of accommodation. Once there, they slip something into your drink and rob you blind. They don't have to declare that they are prostitutes, but you will know by how easy it is to get the girl into bed. Remember, it takes a while to woo an argentine girl, so if it's too easy, something is horribly wrong. While it is usually girls who have to worry about being drugged in most cases, the stats in Buenos Aires show that men get drugged more often than females.

How to Get Laid as Soon as Possible

You may find that Buenos Aires is a difficult place to work in. As a playboy, there are certain foundations that need to be in place. The very first step is to brush up on your Spanish. English is only a language for the elite in Argentina. Even then, only 1% of the wealthy people will speak English. If you are looking to flirt with girls, English will not do. Use and app like Duo Lingo to get your language skills up to date. Furthermore, you need to adjust to the dialect. Argentinians have a very Italian way of pronouncing their words. It can take time to get used to because it isn't Spanish like the Spain or the rest of South America for that matter.

Once you have learned Spanish, you need to work on finding girls. This is not difficult. There are girls all around you, which seems like it would be easy, right? Unfortunately, there are still obstacles in the way. Argentinian girls are suspicious of foreign guys. Unlike the rest of South America, they have little fascination with foreigners and prefer local men. This is partly due to language, culture and understanding barriers.

If you are to strike up an interest with an Argentine girl, you will need to spend at least 3 dates going into intricate detail about serious topics for hours. Unfortunately, this is the only way. Argentine girls don't really party, as well. Partying on a standard salary is a luxury that is not easily afforded - even less so if you are a young professional or a student. Thus, there isn't really a time of cutting loose such as in other South American countries.

The best way to get laid quickly is by using internet dating. Even then, there is no circumventing the process of a slow-moving dating experience. You simply have to adapt to their way of doing things or forget about the experience entirely and go for another foreigner. It takes at least three dates on average - may be more.

Gold Diggers and Sugar Babies

Buenos Aires is full of hot girls looking for a mutually beneficial hookup with travellers. There are lots of girls who don’t charge by the hour but who will do anything for a guy who is willing to help them pay their bills. If you are looking for a more personal and less transactional alternative to escorts, a good place to find these sexy open-minded girls in Buenos Aires is SecretBenefits.

BDSM

Looking for a new bondage partner while traveling? ALT.com is a community of like-minded people with members around the globe. Our members are interested in submissive sex, power exchange, locating persons for new slave roles, erotic BDSM, bondage & fetish sex, as well as live sex dates. Find thousands of play partners for whatever your fetish may be; bondage, foot, cockold, spankings, role-play, electric or water play, sadism and masochism all while traveling in Buenos Aires.

Swinger Clubs and Naturism

There are a number of adult entertainment options available in Buenos Aires, none simpler than two well-known bars close to one of the city's most popular tourist hubs. These bars target locals with some cash to blow and, of course, tourists. Cutty Sark and Club Black are tow bars known for their female attendees.

Besides the strip clubs, there are a number of pure swinger clubs throughout the city. These clubs are known for their events, hygiene and quality of attendees. Avoid any strip or swinger club that doesn't have a good grasp of any one of these criteria. The clubs are listed as follows:

  • Anchorena
  • Enroque Club Swinger
  • Quinta
  • Reina Loba
  • Spa Swingers
  • Sweet Club

Costs of Living

CostsDay Single traveler’s budget per day: US$30 - $700

This cost includes expenses related to food, accommodation, and travel.

CostsAccommodation Accommodation per night: US$11 - $560

Accommodation can be a bit costly if you are staying in a good area.

CostsBeerBottle Beer in a grocery shop: US$1.30 - $2

Alcohol flows throughout the land of Argentina, and with good reason. Alcohol is insanely cheap. You can pick up a bottle of beer at a grocery store for around $1.30. The upper bound of the prices are a fraction of the charges in Europe, Asia andNorth America: only $2.

CostsBeerBar Beer in a bar or restaurant: US$2 - $3

THE most expensive places are the clubs ad bars in Recoleta, you'll find that the price doesn't stray too far from $2. However, should you go into any club, the price automatically shoots up to $3 and more. Pre-drinking before you go out is a good idea, as it can save you a lot of money by the end of the night.

CostsMeal Meal in a restaurant: US$2 - $20

There are a few trendy places in Recoleta and the more upmarket sides of town, but food prices are not something to fear. The Argentinians are famous for their cuisine, with their beef regarded as some of the best in the world. If you eat as the locals do, you can find a budget meal for around $2. Most hotels come standard with breakfast. Lunch and dinner are the most expensive meals of the day (lunch being the most expensive) but you need not spend more than $5.

Fast food is a viable option for those who are budget friendly. A Big Mac costs around $2. However, you will want to remain mindful of the many delicacies on offer in Argentina. If you eat fast food, it would be a waste of the many other flavours on offer.

Accommodation

Buenos Aires has a wealth of diverse and interesting areas in which to stay and explore. Thus, the choice of where to set up camp can be quite a challenging one. It isn’t as simple as heading to the city centre as with most other cities. Instead, there is a beachfront to consider, a diverse amount of bustling neighbourhoods and a city itself. There may be doubt, but here are the best areas to stay in – with reasons.

Palermo – hands down the best place to stay for a busy nightlife and entertainment. This has become a tourist hub over the years, and many locals come out at night to enjoy the parties and festivities. There are also a number of really cool restaurants, bars, museums and galleries to visit. Every new street seems like a lifetime’s worth of exploration.

Palermo

Recoleta – Picture extravagant townhouses, lots of luxurious cars and a wealth of tasteful architecture. This is probably one of the best neighbourhoods to stay in, so if you can afford the peaceful lifestyle on offer, head to Airbnb and book a house, room or apartment somewhere in the neighbourhood or the surrounds.

San Telmo – If you are on a budget, this is the best location for you to enjoy all that Buenos Aires has to offer while limiting the cots. What was once a purely industrial area and home to poor immigrants has now become a trendy, hipster location with a great many entertainment options – definitely a must for those with tight purse strings.

Villa Crespo - picture a standard middle class neighbourhood with a traditionally Argentine touch. Furthermore, it is close to some of the major hotspots. The best way to infiltrate this area would be with Airbnb. Booking a house, apartment or villa is the best way to go; it isn't really the area for a hotel.

Belgrano - a very close-knit and family orientated community. The streets of Belgrano are filled with dog walkers, there is hardly ever a breath of crime and you are close enough to all of the action to explore the majority of the city with little cost of money or time. With that being said, it may not be the best choice for a young man - unless you are with a group of friends or you find a really cheap deal. There are a few university students that still stay with their families. You'll find them at the local park or at the malls nearby, but other than that, heading closer to the city centre is the best way to go.

Airbnb is a great tool in Buenos Aires. It offers a variety of options, superb prices and the ability to hop around from area to area as accommodation becomes available. It often beats booking.com, as some of the best deals come with apartments and villas. Buenos Aires is best done with a group if you want to make it as cheap as possible.

Couchsurfer is an option; however you might find that you need to scout the person a bit first. Go into their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or anything else you can think of. Generally, Argentinians are not known for being friendly with tourists. They also don't have the same fascination with white people, as they are really fair themselves. If someone is being too friendly, always do your background checks first.

Hostels are available all throughout the city. They're cheap and a great way to find a base without committing too much time or money to one place. It is extremely cheap! You can easily find a hostel for $10 per night, the great bonus with the accommodation system. As a result, you will find other tourists staying in these locations. Some of them will be girls - opportunity at hand... wink... wink.

Hotels are another form of enjoying all that Buenos Aires has to offer. You can get a 2-star hotel for very cheap. Sometimes, the price is till $15. A 3-5 star hotel will cost you around $20-$560.

How to Get There and Move Around

By air: Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport serves the city of Buenos Aires. It is located just 20 kilometres away from the city centre and is a great introduction to the city. With over 9 million passengers per year, the airport is a venue that has a lot of entertainment and all the necessary transportation options. There are a number of hotels surrounding the airport and it may be a great way to flirt with other visitors from the rest of South America. You will also be able to take a bus, cab, car and train from the airport.

Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport

By bus: The bus system is run by many companies and not one central government entity. Some of the bus companies are good, and some are less than that. Thus, your experience will differ depending on which service you take. With that being said, there are over 110 bus routes to choose from, so you can get to every corner of the city. The busses run 24 hours a day, which is a huge advantage for partyers and late-night explorers.

You require a pass to use the bus system. This is a card (AR$25 SUBE) which is loaded with pesos. Be careful to select the correct bus, as some trips are more than 50km in length, which can leave you stranded in a place you don’t want to go. SUBE cards can be loaded from bus stations, metro stations and some drug stores.

Bus in Buenos Aires

By car: Uber was introduced to Argentina in 2016. There was quite a resistance, but Uber has remains one of the best ways to navigate the city. There are traditional cabs and taxis available in the city, but the language barrier makes it difficult for expats and tourists to use them. Uber offers a convenient, quick and easy way to get from place to place.

Buenos Aires cab

By train: There are six main subway lines in Buenos Aires, which means that you cannot use the train to go everywhere you want to. This means that a bus trip is equally necessary for your journey in conjunction with the train. However, the train is a breeze to navigate and there is little chance of you getting lost. It is also quick, efficient and cheap. A one-way ticket costs $0.4. You will also need a SUBE Smart Card.

Subway in Buenos Aires

By boat: Boat trips are available; however, these form sightseeing experiences rather than a means of travel. They are not efficient nor are they cost friendly. In fact, it is probably only a worthwhile experience if you are on a date or with a group of fellow tourists.

Boat anchored in the Porto Madero marina, in Buenos Aires

Visas: Working visas are extremely hard to come by, as you first need to land a job with an Argentine company. These visas are not given out lightly, and the verdict takes around 1 year. It is not likely that a working visa will be granted if you do not fulfil a highly specialized need in the economy, as the government does not want work to be taken away from the locals. You will probably need either years of studying, experience or both to get a working visa, but speak to the local Argentine Embassy for greater details.

Digital Nomads and Remote Work

Working in Argentina is quite difficult, but not impossible. The country has a thriving economy which has continued to flourish in select areas, especially in Buenos Aires. There are jobs available for professionals, but those lower down the skill ladder may struggle with the working permit. The government does not easily hand these working visas out, so you will need to land a job with an Argentine company and seek their advice on how to proceed.

A potential gap is English. If you have a good command of the English language and some sort of certification (sometimes that is as simple as a good mark in high school) you can apply for an English teaching position. It is not uncommon for expats to fulfil this role, and you can progress to companies where they need translations or communication with first-world nations.

If you are not confident in any of these skills, the best thing to do is to save up for your trip. It is difficult to live in Argentina unless you have work online to support you as within any first world country. The prices of living can get expensive and you will not have a work permit to fall back on.

Internet and Mobile Operators

There are a number of internet service providers to choose from. The internet is also pretty good, as the Argentine capital has one of the best infrastructures in all of South America. You can expect quick speeds and reasonably cheap data plans, provided you stay within the confines of the city. More rural areas struggle with cell phone reception if you go with certain providers – usually the cheaper ones.

  • Nextel
  • Movistar
  • Personal
  • Claro

Gambling and Casinos

Gambling in Argentina is quite a controversial matter. By law, it is allowed. However, a few later amendments were passed providing strict restrictions on anyone looking to open up new casinos, betting agencies and bingo houses in the city of Buenos Aires. Moreover, there have been certain tax requirements on the earnings from casinos, which make a few gamblers sceptical. With that being said, the offering s the largest gambling experience in all of South America. Many foreigners and wealthy locals participate in high-stakes gaming. and those who use US dollars or Euros and Pounds may have an advantage.

Weed and Drugs

No matter where you go in South America, you will always be able to find drugs. Thanks to neighbours such as Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil. Many drugs are smuggled in by gangs. Weed is completely illegal in Buenos Aires, but nobody ever gets busted for possession of weed. If you are on the hunt for weed there are two things to consider. Firstly, weed is not that great in Argentina. Second, it is as common as sand.

If you are looking to find weed in Buenos Aires, you need to know the local slang. It goes by many names: Porro (the most common one), Flores, Paraguayo (poor quality weed that comes in a brick) and Faso. These are the names you should look out for, as they are thrown around in the right places.

Health, Fitness, Gyms and Massage

There are a few fitness chains in Argentina. Buenos Aires, as the capital, is home to most of the gyms. You will find a lot of gyms catering to females with Zumba classes, Pilates and Yoga. However, there are a few unisex chains to try out. It is not as overboard as the USA or most other western countries who seem to have a cult-like fitness following., but you can find a gym in Buenos Aires to suit your needs.

Choose from:

  • Megation
  • Sports Club
  • Well Club

These chains are available throughout all areas of the city. They are state of the art, and the facilities include classes, cardio equipment and a full weight section for strength training. There are also a few girls at the gyms, and you may try and engage in conversations.

For those who enjoy more of an outdoor vibe, the parks also have outdoor gyms. You will often find pull up bars and Cross-fit equipment available for the public to use. Furthermore, it is a free way to get a workout in, so give it a try if you're on a budget.

STDs and HIV

Around 5, 500 cases of HIV are reported in Argentina each year. Although the city has made a remarkable increase with regard to sexual hygiene and the prevention of STDs, there are still a number of improvements to be made. Currently, the rate of HIV infections is around 1% of the total population. While not at epidemic rate as with some African countries, it is still enough to warrant concern. Most of the HIV and STDs are concentrated in the poorer areas of Buenos Aires. Moreover, 90% of the reported HIV cases started with unprotected sex. Use a condom wherever you go!

Along with HIV, there are also a number of other STDs to watch out for. These include Herpes, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea and Syphilis. Always remain careful when hooking up with girls in Argentina, especially girls from poorer areas.

If you suspect that you may have contracted a sexually related infection or disease, there are clinics available. You will probably have to pay as a foreigner, especially if you require an English-speaking clinic. However, they will have access to ARVs, Penicillin or anything else you need to cure the problem.

Stay Safe

Most people travel in Buenos Aires without any incident. Nevertheless, as with any large city, like in Europe, crime is an issue for tourists and residents alike. Conduct yourself intelligently as you would in any large city.
