Užice, Serbia

Serbia, officially known as the Republic of Serbia is a small Slavic country located at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe in the southern Pannonian Plain and central Balkans. It's capital, Belgrade, is one of the oldest and largest cities in this part of Europe. The official language, Serbian, is native to almost 90% of the population. But most of the younger population is very fluent in English as well. Since there are some other cultures here, it is actually very rich in various architecture, and there are many historic monuments from WW1 and WW2 and many army-related museums. Also, Serbian is the only European language with active digraphia, using both Cyrillic and Latin alphabets. The climate of Serbia is under the influences of the landmass of Eurasia and the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Although, the northern part is a bit more continental with cold winters and hot summers. In the south, summers and autumns are drier, and winters are relatively cold, with heavy inland snowfall in the mountains. However, as of lately, the climate has gotten warmer globally, the winters are not so cold as they used to be. So, the perfect time to visit is almost during the entire year. You might just want to skip January as it is the month of many Christian holidays, and it is mostly family atmosphere during those weeks with not so much going on in the streets.

Serbian Girls

As it is the case with almost all Slavic countries, locals here live like they are still in the '90s. A lot of social events and parties take place during the weekdays as well. Why go out on Friday night, when you can bust it out Tuesday night and then be hungover for Wednesday work? And the girls here are very diverse when it comes to their stereotypes and preferences. Most of them hang out with their girlfriends during the daytime, so get ready to breach social circles if you're looking for a hookup. Another good idea is to bring a friend of yours as well because it will be much easier to approach a group of girls if you're not by yourself only. Most of the girls are very attractive, and there is no middle ground here. There are 9's and 10's who were born in cities, while the provincials are a bit worse when it comes to looks. But there are no strict rules, and the variations are highly possible. But they all have one thing in common: they take very good care of themselves when it comes to keeping in shape and looking good for every occasion. When compared to global standards, they are ranked quite high, although not in the very top. But again, there is room for variations. They are also well educated and intelligent and are really good at detecting those guys who like to play hard to catch and other childish games. Remember, you will not get away with this in 90% of the situations.

RatingLooks Looks of girls: 4.5 / 5

There is so much to be said about the looks of the female population in Serbia. They are always trying their best to look as good as possible. Many of them are quite tall as well, over 5'5" on average, and they have nice bodies that are taken care of. Hair/eye color varies from one to another, but if you like brunettes, then this is the dream place for you. The highest percentage of them are either black or brunette. And the stereotypes are all over the place when it comes to their preferences and dressing style. Most of them fall into classical category, straight hair, painted fingernails and casual female clothes. But there are many others as well, since some of us like those alternative redheads. Don't worry, in Serbia, they come in all different styles. So, there is plenty of them to choose from. If you happen to visit some other cities besides the capital of Belgrade, you will notice that the girls in other places are a bit more casual when it comes to everyday looks. They will wear tracksuits and other casual clothes without makeup unless they are going for a night out. As opposed to the Belgrade, where they bring their A-game all the time.

RatingAttitude Attitude of girls: 4 / 5

Serbian girls are very open-minded and easy-going when it comes to their attitude. As long as something sounds fun, they will not refrain from doing it. They also like to hang out with foreigners and meet new people, because they are working on themselves all the time, and knowing more people means better connections and more chances for good career opportunities. So, approaching them will not be hard. But hooking up will take some effort. Especially if you're aiming for those 9's and 10's. They always get a lot of attention, and their Instagram accounts are flooded with messages from other men. So, they are basically never out of options if they happen to get very lonely. But as a foreign guy, you will always have some advantage, because if she wants to do something, she better hurry up before you're gone. So, putting them on a time-restraint is a good thing. But be ready to get tested, as you can get her number easily, even if she is not so interested in you. They do this all the time because of the massive competition. Keep it light and casual until you get a one-on-one meeting. Then you can become a bit more direct with your intentions. As it is the case everywhere, be a gentleman and be polite, as nobody really likes douches.

How to Pick Up Girls

Serbian girls are very proud of themselves, and they are always looking to leave the best possible impressions on anybody new that they meet. So, you need to make sure that you do exactly the same. Serbian people, in general, are very hospitable and they won't mind additional company at any time. Especially when it comes to meeting strangers. But they know that strangers come here, after all, to meet beautiful women. So, they will be prepared to test you a bit, but it's not anything new that you haven't encountered before.

Tips for Daytime

Even though the nighttime would be a better occasion in Serbia, daytime has some of its own advantages yet. You can meet somebody during the daytime and then go out the same night. Best daytime tips would be to stay away from those who seem busy or rushing somewhere. But you can approach others who are just hanging and not doing anything of big importance. They will most likely be glad to meet somebody new and they will invite you to join them. For some reason, people in Serbia, in general, and especially girls, tend to be much more relaxed and easy-going during the summer times. And trust us, during the summer, girls are much more in the mood to have some casual fun and hook-up.

RatingDaytime Chance of picking up at daytime: 3.5 / 5

Best Places to Meet Girls

During the day, your best bets are student parks and coffee bars near them, if you are looking for some younger chicks. During the spring and summer, there is a lot of them hanging outside in the parks. Just stop by and say hello. You can ask for directions or something like that. Get them comfortable to talk and you are on a good path. Also, there are many shopping malls with coffee bars and fast-food restaurants. Those are also very good locations, as they are overcrowded most of the time. That means that you could just get your slice of pizza and ask to join the table if there are not any others available. Small, yet effective trick!

Tips for Nighttime

Now, this is your go-time. People in Serbia are very active when it comes to nightlife, and in Belgrade, they go out even during the weekdays. What you need to do is look good, and don't hesitate to buy drinks for others and get to know them better. Being social in groups is very attractive and will be noticed and appreciated. Here is another tip: if you're using the public bus to go to a place, look around and see if there are some groups who look like they are going to party. Politely approach and ask them where are they heading, if they know a good place, etc. There is a good chance that you will get invited to join them. Serbian people do this all the time!

RatingNighttime Chance of hooking up at nighttime: 4.5 / 5

Best Nightclubs to Meet Girls

Most cities have at least one place for everybody's taste. However, if you are looking for quality women, restaurants with outer terraces are the locations that you should be looking for. Nothing is better than the quality chat over a good dinner and drinks. Nightclubs are good as well, but try to avoid electronic music places, as they are flooded with junkies and people who just want to get high. You don't need to take care of anybody because they have chosen to make themselves a mess. If you are in a city that has a river, check some floating bars and rafts as well. Nightlife in Serbia is really the best thing that the country is known for, and you want to take advantage of this.

RatingLooks Nightlife in general: 5 / 5

Most major cities, including Belgrade, have really great nightlife in general. Parties last until early morning hours and you could easily fit in few different places in a single night. If you're not sure where to go, you can ask locals to suggest a place that will fit your preferences. Also, you can ask them to tell you where the girls go out. There is nothing to be ashamed of, as Serbian people are certainly not. Some of them would be even willing to take you with them if they are going out with similar intentions. Look out for groups of younger guys, and feel free to ask. Also, keep in mind that thanks to their Slavic origins, Serbian people can drink a lot. And by that, we really mean, A LOT! Even girls. And they like to make fun of those who can't keep up with them. But don't let this discourage you if it happens to you. Laugh, have fun with people around you. Of course, nobody will force you to drink more than you can, so know your limits and know when to take a break. The last thing you want is to pass out in a place where nobody knows you and you don't know anybody.

Belgrade at night

Mature Ladies and Cougars

Serbia is flooded of single mature women as well, ranging from 30 to 50+ years old, as marriages don't seem to last for too long in the 21st century. Some of them are single divorced moms who are still hot and good-looking, and there are a lot of them who actually like younger men to date with, and also foreigners. If you are looking for them, this is what you should do. Restaurants and bars during the nighttime, and squares and malls during the daytime. Also, if there is a river in that place, check out the beaches, as many of them like to walk around. And remember this: they are more likely to have sex on a first date. If she accepts to go out and meet you for a date, then the chances are high that she has the same intentions as you do. Play your cards right, and you will score. And they definitely know some stuff much better than younger chicks, trust us!

Top Dating Tips

Most of the girls in Serbia like to go out on a date because they have high self-view, and they like to have available options. As long as you are taller than her, and at least average looking, you are good to go. They don't mind your looks too much after they get to know you better. Also, they like guys who like to party and have fun, as nightlife is viewed as something that adds to the reputation of a person. When you approach a girl, don't be afraid to ask if she is single. This way you know what you need to do. Even if she has a boyfriend, she might be in for some fun with a random stranger. Women in general like that stuff. Show that you know how to have a good time and bump her adrenaline up. Ask to go to another place even if the current one is just fine. You want the two of you to have some time alone. Also, during the date, she will probably get approached by other guys, unless you two hold hands and act like a couple. Don't let this throw you off your game. Even if you get a bit jealous, don't show it. Just pretend like nothing happened, like, whatever. Girls in general, and especially Serbian ones, like guys who are in control of things, and who they can rely upon. So, don't show any hard feelings or make any faces that would suggest that you have a problem because a guy stopped by your table and said hi to her. Also, they like to see that a guy is in shape and takes good care of his body as well because they take care of theirs. They also like to see that somebody has a nice style. This means that you wear nice clothes, but you are not imposing or showing off so that everybody has to notice that. That is a big turn off for them!

Online Dating

Girls in Serbia, especially younger ones, are very active on social networks and dating apps. Tinder and Badoo are the most popular ones, but there is also Flirtic, which became very popular as of lately. If you're strictly looking for a hookup, there is Serbian-only website called Klubzaodrasle. Download any of those, set your profile and start swiping, you might stumble upon somebody interesting. Also, avoid profiles that are not verified by picture, as those could be either trannys or prostitutes. And also, avoid chicks that are younger than 18-19. They are most likely there to collect Instagram followers and chat when they have nothing else to do. And you want action, not endless messaging back and forth.

What Kind of Guys Have the Best Chances

As everywhere, women prefer tall guys with a good sense of humor. This is definitely your winning combination. Apart from Belgrade, showing off with fancy clothes and other stuff is not so important, as people outside of Belgrade tend to care less about those things. Casual clothes will do the job. Even if you are in a tracksuit, you can enter almost any club. The best rule would be to look at the others and try to fit in. During the summertime, people like to hang out and drink outside as well, as this is not restricted in Serbia like many other countries. You can just buy some liquor in the supermarket and find a suitable bench to occupy. And in our opinion, this is the best way to have a good time. There are many groups who just hang out in the park with a guitar and beer, and those kinds of parties could last for tens of hours. If that is your kind of thing, just feel free to approach them and introduce yourself.

Risks while Gaming

Girls here don't like too much of attention-seeking guys. Of course, you shouldn't just stick in the corner by yourself. Be social, but know your place. People sometimes tend to get a bit aggressive when they have had some drinks, but as long as you don't care too much about them, they won't bother you. But don't try to hit on somebody's girlfriend, or you could easily get into trouble with the whole group. Buying drinks and chatting is fine, but over-imposing is not good. Also, if you're in Belgrade, avoid bald guys who are football club supporters, as they are not the kind of people that you want to hang out with. You will easily notice them as they wear various jerseys and scarfs. You have nothing smart to do with them.

How to Get Laid as Soon as Possible

Getting laid on the first night is very hard, but not impossible. However, if you want a nice girl, you will most likely need to have a couple of dates before you can ask to bring her to your place and have fun. Younger ones, under 30 are less likely to have sex on the first date. But those older than 30 are much easier to take into bed. It is up to you, as it is everywhere. Be charming, good-looking and with a good sense of humor, you will definitely create instant chemistry and that is already a good sign for you. Be a gentleman, and offer to pay the bill. Strangers have good chances in Serbia, as girls are pretty much tired of same guys over and over again. Use the time-restraint trick that we mentioned before, and your chances will be good!

Gold Diggers and Sugar Babies

Serbia is full of hot girls looking for a mutually beneficial hookup with travellers. There are lots of girls who don’t charge by the hour but who will do anything for a guy who is willing to help them pay their bills. If you are looking for a more personal and less transactional alternative to escorts, a good place to find these sexy open-minded girls in Serbia is SecretBenefits. Girls here definitely like to get spoiled. But don't rush to buy them expensive gifts as that will show that you just want to bang her, and you will most likely end up without doing so. Especially outside of Belgrade, since the Belgrade is kind of a center of this country. Avoid strip clubs and suspicious night clubs, especially those who have promoters outside that show you pictures of naked women. The prices in those places are insane, and there is a lot of criminal stuff going on, and you want to stay out of it as much as possible. However, outside of Belgrade, those places are quite rare, and even if they exist, you would probably need some sort of special invitation to get inside. But if you want to find a sugar baby, you can get online, and mention that you are looking for that sort of arrangement. This is the safest way to get what you want without getting in trouble. Also, if you don't want to deal with gold-diggers, avoid over-expensive and too fancy clubs. People in there are just showing off, and the truth is, nobody wants to have anything with anybody.

BDSM

Looking for a new bondage partner while traveling? ALT.com is a community of like-minded people with members around the globe. Our members are interested in submissive sex, power exchange, locating persons for new slave roles, erotic BDSM, bondage & fetish sex, as well as live sex dates. Find thousands of play partners for whatever your fetish may be; bondage, foot, cockold, spankings, role-play, electric or water play, sadism and masochism all while traveling in Serbia.

Swinging and Naturism

Apart from Belgrade, swinging is not so popular in Serbia, as those who are married for a long time tend to stay faithful to each other. But there are places that host those kinds of parties as well. Keep in mind that if you're a single guy, you will have to pay much more for the entrance than somebody who brings female with him as well. If you want to go to a party like that, you can look up online for any similar events, they will probably show up, including all the information that you need about it.

Costs of Living

While Belgrade is definitely the most expensive city when it comes to all your needs, other places are really cheap. For example, in Belgrade, a single traveler's budget would be around $30, while other places you could with half of that amount. Fancy fast food restaurants are very expensive, and the food is still garbage compared to some places that have homemade-like food for a much lower price. Short-time accommodation is also really expensive because you could easily rent a 1-room apartment for a month for under $200 with everything included in the price, while the hotel would cost you the same for only a few days. But if you're only staying for a few days, consider as early as possible in advance, as they will often have some discounts that way.

CostsDay Single traveler’s budget per day: US$60 - $500

$60 a day will most likely cover all of your needs, which would be 2-3 meals, coffee, and a drink during the nighttime. If you're not in Belgrade, you can go with an even lower daily budget, as prices tend to be lower when you move more to the South of the country. Also, when compared to other European countries, cigarettes and tobacco products are very cheap. It is one of the reasons that people actually come to Serbia.

CostsAccommodation Accommodation per night: US$10 - $300

As long as you stay away from fancy 5-star hotels, you will save your budget greatly. You actually just need a bathroom, a bed and a nice place to leave your stuff while you're outside, so don't look for places that offer stuff which you won't actually even need. Also, keep in mind, the longer you stay, the lower the price per night will be.

CostsBeerBottle Beer in a grocery shop: US$1 - $3

Liquor is very cheap in grocery stores. And even cheaper in liquor stores. Domestic beers in Serbia are really good when it comes to quality. Look for glass bottles and avoid cans and plastic bottles as much as possible, if you want it to be fresh and good!

CostsBeerBar Beer in a bar or restaurant: US$2 - $6

Beer in restaurants is also fairly cheap, especially if you are going to the beer pubs, and there are plenty of those everywhere. Fresh draft beer ranges from $1.5 to $3, while foreign bottled beers go up to $5-6. Ask locals where to get the best beer, and they will know for sure.

CostsMeal Meal in a restaurant: US$5 - $10

As it is the case with everything, Belgrade is far more expensive than the rest of Serbia. In some smaller place, you could easily get a full meal with main dish and dessert for less than $5. But if you decide to go to a restaurant, prepare at least $10-20, and maybe up to $40 if you're bringing somebody with you. Yes, the food is quite costly, but it will be worth it, for sure!

Accommodation

Hotels are insanely expensive, especially in Belgrade. So, for short term visits, we highly suggest that you actually rent a single bedroom in a hostel. Use the internet, and book in advance. Also, in hostels, they have many tour guides and predefined tour routes, and you could actually join other people who are visiting as well for a walk around the city, hiking trails or bus sightseeing. If there is a female host, don't hesitate to ask for a place where you could meet some girls!

How to Get There and Move Around

By air: If you're planning to arrive via plane and go outside of Belgrade, landing in Belgrade is good. There are not so many airports in Serbia at the moment, but a few new should be opened by the end of 2019. Tickets to Serbia, especially last-minute offers, are really affordable.

Belgrade Airport

By bus: This is the best way of quickly moving around Serbia. Bus lines are very frequent and cheap. Moving from any city to any other city will cost you no more than $15. Also, public city busses are fairly cheap. Ticket for a single ride costs less than $1. But if you're outside the Belgrade, you can also take a taxi, as it is also very cheap in other cities. Not over $1 for a single kilometer.

Local buses in Serbia

By car: Moving around via car is probably the most affordable way of traveling. 1 liter of gasoline is under $2, and there are also many other advantages when you travel by car. You can actually stop by some road restaurants, as there are many of those all around Serbia. And also, motels along the highways are fairly cheap when compared to those in populated places. By train: There are two main train railways in Serbia. Belgrade-Bar, which starts off in Belgrade center and goes all the way through the west of the country, and finishes in Montenegro. And the other one is Belgrade-Subotica, which will take you through the northern part of the country. Train tickets are even cheaper than the bus ones, often you will pay half the price for the train ticket that goes the same way as the bus line.

Train in Belgrade

By boat: The Serbian river system is very rich and dense, and there are many river tours to visit various parts of the country. You can also come to Belgrade using many international cruise lines. However, keep in mind that those are not very frequent.

Visas: If you plan to stay for a short time, less than 90 days, a visa is not required for most of the passports. But if you plan to stay longer, you can get information in any city hall. Permit costs around $150, depending on the duration of your stay. But most of the time, you can stay even without the permit, as long as you don't get stopped by the police for ID check, and they are not likely to stop foreign people for the most of the time, unless you are super unlucky, and there is a messy situation, for example, gunfire or car crash, in which case they will stop everybody for identification and legitimization.

Digital Nomads and Remote Work

Remote working is slowly becoming a trend in Serbia, but if you are a digital nomad, the best way of keeping up with your work is to use Wi-Fi at your place of stay. If you don't have access to the internet at your place, you can visit one of the many internet clubs. They are quite cheap, and you can get up to 10 hours of use for $5, and even less than that outside of Belgrade. There are also a couple of couch-surfing bars that have special offers for people who are living the digital nomad life, and they are most of the time offering accommodation as well, but those are all shared rooms. If you still want your privacy, then staying at the couch-surfing bar is not a suggestion. Also, pretty much all coffee bars, even outside of Belgrade, have a free Wi-Fi zone which you can use. There are also more quiet places that are perfect for those who want to work and be social at the same time.

== Internet and Mobile Operators ==

You want to get a prepaid SIM card while you're here, as roaming prices are quite expensive in Serbia. SIM card costs around $3, and you can buy it at pretty much any store. There are currently 3 main operators in Serbia:

  • MTS - Telekom Srbija
  • VIP mobile
  • Telenor

All of them have some unique prepaid promotions. For example, if you pay $4-5, you get free calls, messages and a bunch of gigabytes for mobile data for a period of 1-2 weeks. But if you only need mobile data, many cities have a unique Wi-Fi network which is available everywhere. You will need to go to the post office, and you pay to get a username and password which you use to log in to the city network. You can choose various packages with Skype and/or Viber credits as well.

== Gambling and Casinos ==

Gambling and lucky games are very popular in Serbia, and many people play them all the time. Casinos and sport betting clubs are open 24/7 in pretty much all cities. But you need to be older than 18, or some places older than 21, in order to get inside. But during the nighttime, you are better staying off of those places, as they are most likely occupied by bums, thieves and homeless people who just beg for money, and who could get you in serious trouble for no reason.

Weed and Drugs

Weed and drugs are not legal in Serbia, but for the majority of the time, you can have a few grams for personal use without having too many issues with the police, as they rarely stop strangers for ID verification, and even if they do, they are not likely to look through your pockets and bags for that purpose. They will politely ask for your ID, check that everything is okay, and leave you alone. If you want to find some of those, go around the parks where you see people that hang outside and drink. You can ask them for help, and they will most likely be able to give you somebody's phone number or even have something on them. But never give money before they actually show you the stuff, because there are many people who scam others like this. If you're only looking for weed, you can buy a single gram for 1000 Serbian dinars, which would be roughly around $10. If you want a bit more, most dealers sell 5 grams for 2500 dinars, or $25. However, if you're looking for ecstasy, amphetamines or other chemicals, be aware of who you're buying it from. As of lately, there are many poor-quality drugs in Balkans, and you don't want to consume something that is made in somebody's basement. Instead, try to find somebody who is using that stuff, and then ask them for help. Or even better, don't do drugs, when you can just have a couple of drinks and have fun without them.

Health, Fitness, Gyms and Massage

Staying in shape won't be a problem in Serbia. There are many gyms and fitness centers, and they offer various plans depending on the time that you want to spend exercising. The monthly price for gym usage is around $20-30 for most places. There are also many amateur sports clubs for football, basketball, and other sports, and you can buy a monthly membership for $20-30 as well. Also, there are many outside playgrounds and parks that have either a football, basketball or tennis courts, and they are free to use. And many of those places have some sort of outside gym as well. If you want jogging or something like that, there are many athletic tracks in various cities. Many cities that are located in the mountains also have spa and wellness centers, and if that is not enough, there are many people who offer sports massage in private. But be aware, as many of those could turn out to be sex workers. Serbia also has a lot of natural thermal water resorts, such as Vrnjacka Banja, and Sokobanja. Also, since the snow months are from November until February, there are many opportunities to go skiing in the mountains. Or, if you are into blade-skating, many cities have open ice rinks during the winter months.

STDs and HIV

Although Serbia is not known for many STD's, you can never be too careful, especially if you are having a one-night stand with younger chicks. Safety first. And also, you don't want to get some random girl pregnant, because she could easily file and sue you, and you will get arrested on the border when you try to leave the country. It is much easier to just buy a pack of condoms for $2, than to spend a lot of money on some pills or pay like $500-600 for abortion. Also, public pharmacies don't sell almost any medical stuff without prescription. Private pharmacies do sell such kind of medicaments, and those that are legally sold without a prescription are really expensive. So, just remember to take a good care of your health while you're having fun. Why spoil it with something that could've easily been avoided?

Stay Safe

Serbia is generally a safe place to visit. The locals are incredibly polite and helpful in case you require any assistance. (If you need any help finding/reaching a place, it's best to ask a younger person for help, as they are more likely to speak English.) However, you should always be aware of pickpockets, mainly in crowded tourist places and on public transportation.
